Combat Sports Announcer and Broadcaster A.J. Kirsch

Our Wednesday podcast guest will be A.J. Kirsch, pro wrestler turned “In the Ring” announcer and personality. He’s pictured here with Dwayne “The Rock”  Johnson.

A.J. helped the Rock launch his successful YouTube podcast several years ago, winning the smack talk competition. Here’s the link:

But before A.J. put on his tux and climbed into the ring to be an announcer for Boxing, MMA and Wrestling matches, he was a pro wrestler. His competition or stage name is Joe Brody or “Broseph”.  

And here he is in the ring as a competitor taking on the pro- wrestlers.

It takes a certain kind of showmanship to climb into the ring as fans hurl praise and abuse your way, but standing your ground not to be phased. It comes down to super self confidence and a thick skin, but in the end winning makes it all worthwhile.

But it can be lonely when you are in the ring, by yourself, the spotlight on you and the fans   one minute cheering you and the next booing.

But once you’ve experienced it yourself, you bring a special empathy to the job of announcer or interviewer as you can see in these next photos.

And yes, the ladies get in the ring as wrestlers too.

But at the end of the day, you always are the consummate professional whether in the ring or outside it.
