The 442 and 100 Battalion were two of the most decorated combat regiments in World War II. Composed of Japanese Americans who had volunteered to serve on the front lines in Italy and France they were exemplary soldiers. Most of them had left behind families who had been interned/incarcerated under Executive Order 9066. Yet in the face of such trying circumstances and suspected by the US Government as potential sympathizers or collaborators they went off to serve honorably.
